The City of Austin and other communities within the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District are updating the floodplain maps for the Upper Brushy Creek watershed, including Lake Creek, Rattan Creek and South Brushy Creek. The preliminary maps indicate that some properties have a higher risk of flooding than previously realized. Other properties have a lower risk. Although many of the residents in your neighborhood are probably not affected, some of your residents and homeowners may be. A notice has been mailed  to those whom they think may be affected. Residents can also check an online map to see if they’re affected.

A Public Meeting was held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 to inform neighbors about changes to the floodplain maps for our area.  The project was presented by the City of Austin watershed staff with a slide presentation and Q&A.  Slide Presentation (pdf).
