CODE NEXT PRESENTATIONS are being held around the City to present the new Zoning & Development Code, and neighbors are encouraged to attend to learn about Austin's new Zoning and Land Development Code.  This is not just for neighbors in the City of Austin -- it's important information for all of us about how the city plans to grow our area.

Based on results of the Imagine Austin initiative, the City of Austin has drafted a new Code Next for zoning and land development.  This city plan will designate how Austin develops and expands, including new Regional Centers, such as Lakeline Mall area, and the Corridors of Parmer Lane and Hwy. 183.

The draft Map will be presented on April 18th, and residents will be able to see the new zoning categories:  each property in the City of Austin will be re-zoned, including the residential properties.  Property owners will be sent a letter with the new zoning classification.  This is part of a Growth Concept Map which will help design the city's vision of "Compact and Connected".

Attendance at one of the Code Next Presentations is encouraged to learn about the new code and the new Map and how these 2 pieces will mesh to guide development in the greater Austin area.  The next scheduled meeting is:

Saturday, April 8th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Anderson High School  - 8403 Mesa Drive
